Director & Founding Member

Ikram Ullah Qureshi

Since 2003, I have been working in and serving the Peel District School Board and Peel community in different capacities. I have also been fortunate enough to work with a number of community and human development agencies such as UNICEF, Oaklands, Erinkoak Kids, Mississauga Community Living, and Peel Halton Acquired Brain Injury Services (PHABIS). All of these organizations have not only given me valuable experience in this line of work; they have also provided me with the opportunity to learn about their diverse network of services and model of operations. I believe in the intrinsic value of sharing and its seamless ability to transform individuals as well as communities. Therefore, I am a part of The Power of Sharing, and I am looking forward to being a part of an organization that strives to enact real and valuable change in vulnerable communities, both domestically and internationally.
Director

Yumna Ikram

I am a 4th year undergraduate student studying Psychology at York University. In addition to being a full-time student, I am also a Residence Life Don, a Research Assistant, and the current Chair of United South Asians at York (USAY) a community service group that works to support and advocate for South Asian students on York’s campus.

Why Power of Sharing? I have watched my mother build all of this from the ground up. Over the past decade she has been working, for no personal gain, building this amazing initiative and community brick by brick. All of this has been so integrated into my life since I was 10 years old that I could not imagine not continuing to be a part of this incredible journey. I want to help ensure that this initiative continues to develop, grow, and reach its full potential.

Asif Ikram

I currently serve as Secretary of Information Science and Technology, Government of Sindh. My career has consisted of over 20 years of public service with federal and provincial government departments in different leading capacities. Along with this, I have held various critical administrative roles including Secretary of Finance for the Government of Sindh.

Besides heading these assigned departments, I also developed bills for the parliaments of Sindh and Balochistan, these include the Balochistan Safe Cities Authority, Sindh Drought Management and Mitigation Policy in 2014. I am also very passionate about public education, which led me to contribute to the preparation of the Education Sector plan for the province of Sindh in coordination with the World Bank, UNICEF and IIEP.

The reason I choose to support the Power of Sharing is because I have known Ikram and Shazia for over 20 years. Their small initiative is making an impact on people’s lives. Therefore, it is an honour to contribute with my specialized background to help them in their mission to expand their service network by continuing to build working infrastructure in Pakistan.
