One of the most important aspects of NGO work is to cultivate community. Activist Rani Saiba has been doing incredible work with the local transgender community in Islamabad, Pakistan. She runs a number of madrassa’s and shelters which provide a safe and supportive space for transgender women to learn useful life skills. The Power Sharing is happy to have provided these women with new Eid clothes as well as sewing supplies during this blessed month of Ramadan! *MoU Signing Ceremony* On Wednesday 4th September, *Indus Hospital & Health Network* (IHHN) and *Power of Sharing* (POS), a Canada-based NGO led by Ms. Shazia Farooqi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program (PuRe) services. POS, is located in Mississauga, Canada and renowned for its philanthropic projects aimed at alleviating poverty globally, with a significant focus on Pakistan.The MoU was signed by Dr. Zafar Zaidi, CEO of IHHN, and Farrah Kureishy, a board member of POS in Karachi, Pakistan. Drinking Water Distribution Due to many known and unknown factors, increased shortage of Drinking water in distant but densely populated areas of Karachi are facing severe water crisis. Especially in extreme heat waves in the months of May, June and part of July. Some communities it is almost impossible to afford. Therefore on an urgent basis since May 15, 2024.
